Most patients who get a dental implant are middle-aged or older, but that doesn’t mean younger people can’t get them, too. At Boulder County Smiles in Lafayette we have patients of all ages.
When it comes to age and dental implants, there is really only once exception: the patient must have a fully-formed jawbone in order to ensure the implant’s success.
An Implant Primer
If you are just hearing about dental implants, we’ll give you the low-down here.
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed in the patient’s jaw. After a couple of months the post has fused with the bone. When that happens they are a part of your body, and can support one or more artificial teeth.
With implant-supported teeth you’ll have virtually normal biting and chewing power. You can eat the things you have always enjoyed, without worrying the artificial tooth will slip or come loose.
